About The Position

Flair Airlines is seeking a Crew Scheduler to join their Flight Operations team. This role is crucial for ensuring safe and efficient flight operations by coordinating pilot and cabin crew schedules, maintaining compliance with regulations, and responding to operational changes. The position supports a 24/7 operation and requires flexibility to work rotating shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. This is an on-site position at the Edmonton, AB office.

Requirements

  • High School or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a fast-paced work environment is preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of customer service experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to read, understand, and apply Transport Canada CARs regulations, company policies, and procedures.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is essential.
  • Make effective decisions regarding scheduling and customer requirements for charters and other flights.
  • Clear criminal record check and satisfactory references.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Airline Operations Centre or Airport Operations experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) as they apply to 705 operations is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a high-stress, deadline-driven, ever-changing work environment while prioritizing tasks and assignments.
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure with time-sensitive priorities.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain an organized workflow.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Crew Schedulers must be contactable on a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week basis as per the shift schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously audit, adjust, and verify crew schedules to ensure legal compliance across all planned flights.
  • Ensure crew duty hours and days worked remain within the limits set by Transport Canada’s Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and Fatigue Risk Management System (FRMS) principles.
  • Schedule and monitor all flight crews in accordance with CARs, the Company Operations Manual (COM), FRMS guidelines, and collective agreements for Pilots and Cabin Crew.
  • Apply sound decision-making practices to maximize crew utilization, productivity, and operational transparency.
  • Coordinate with the Systems Operations Control Center (SOCC) during day-to-day operations and Irregular Operations (IROPS) to manage schedule disruptions and recovery plans.
  • Book and manage crew travel and accommodations with a focus on schedule efficiency and cost control.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with crew members, ensuring all updates are timely, accurate, and well-documented.
  • Accurately log sick calls, absences, delays, and no-shows in line with company and regulatory policies.
  • Use company software tools efficiently to perform scheduling tasks, make updates, and track operational changes.
