About The Position

This role involves assisting the Park Supervisor in operating the Twin Lakes Regional Sports Complex and nearby athletic fields. The Crew Leader will guide and coordinate Trades Workers in ballfield and artificial turf field maintenance, and assist in coordinating special events and athletic activities. Key responsibilities include training new staff, overseeing routine and corrective maintenance, record keeping, work order completion, and ensuring overall park safety. The Crew Leader will also oversee Trades Workers in the absence of the Park Supervisor, coordinate equipment and supplies, act as a liaison for special events, perform ballfield and site maintenance, operate light automotive and ballfield maintenance equipment, follow maintenance schedules, maintain operating records, participate in quality inspections, and ensure ground safety. Additionally, the role involves managing proactive assessments of fraud awareness, prevention, detection, and risk mitigation, and overseeing financial, compliance, operational, and performance audits, as well as reviewing audit findings and ensuring appropriate controls are implemented.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or an equivalent education
  • One year of experience in an athletic grounds maintenance role
  • Valid Florida driver's license by date of hire
  • Subject to Passing Substance Screening

  • An understanding of cultural and ballfield clay maintenance and/or artificial turf field maintenance

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the supervision of Trades Workers in the absence of the Park Supervisor.
  • Coordinate equipment assignments and supplies to complete tasks and provide subordinate instructions.
  • Assist with special events at the sports complex, acting as a liaison with event coordinators and managers.
  • Perform ballfield and site-related duties in the maintenance of the complex.
  • Operate light automotive equipment and ballfield maintenance equipment including autonomous painter and turf scrubber, landscape, and hand tools.
  • Follow and complete schedules of maintenance activities.
  • Maintain operating records, supply requests, and complete work orders.
  • Participate in quality inspections of the complex.
  • Ensure ground safety (i.e. irrigation leaks, landscaping issues, broken or damaged complex amenities) by performing inspections and taking appropriate action.
  • Manage proactive assessments of fraud awareness, prevention, detection, and risk mitigation activities in area of responsibility.
  • Oversee financial, compliance, operational, and performance audits.
  • Review audit findings and ensure appropriate controls are established and implemented.
