About The Position

Teknor Apex is seeking high-quality individuals to join our manufacturing team as a Crew Leader on the 2nd shift. This role involves ensuring daily production requirements are met, planning for future production, enforcing quality standards, and overseeing the safe operation of all equipment. The Crew Leader will work with operators to maintain a smooth and productive process flow, assist with changeovers and line operations, and enter shift performance data into the daily production report. Adherence to company rules and policies, along with a commitment to safety, is essential. The position requires preparation of equipment, raw materials, and personnel for future runs, and performing in-process production testing and quality control inspections.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Two to three years' experience in operation of product equipment and knowledge of plastics and plastics processes preferred
Familiarity with plastic extrusion equipment preferred
Must be certified in forklift operations
Good verbal and written communication skills
Must be accurate, conscientious, and able to perform multiple tasks
Must show a demonstrated ability to lead a team
Physically capable of lifting and carrying 55 pounds
Physically capable of wearing a respirator
Ability to pass a drug screen and physicians physical examination
Must be 18 years of age

Nice To Haves

Two to three years' experience in operation of product equipment
Knowledge of plastics and plastics processes
Familiarity with plastic extrusion equipment

Responsibilities

Ensure daily production requirements are met
Plan and prepare for future production requirements
Enforce quality standards as set forth by customers and Teknor Color Company
Obtain batch cards for products
Oversee the safe operation of all equipment at all times
Troubleshoot and operate equipment as required
Work with all operators to maintain a smooth and productive process flow, including helping on changeover and line operation
Computer entry of shift performance on daily production report
Understand/follow/enforce all company rules and policies at all times
Work overtime and different shifts if necessary
Supervise a safe shift, working in a safe manner
Prepare equipment/raw materials/people for future runs before immediate need
Follow applicable procedures, work instructions, and test methods to perform and maintain records on in-process production testing and Q.C. inspection of finished product
