About The Position

As a Crew Leader (Non-Driver) within our Installation division, you will lead and work alongside a landscape installation crew to support the successful completion of residential and commercial landscape construction projects. This role is responsible for directing daily field activities, ensuring quality workmanship, maintaining jobsite safety, and operating company equipment. This team member will play a key role in executing installation projects according to plans, schedules, and project specifications while supporting crew productivity and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate is an experienced landscape professional with strong leadership skills, the ability to read plans, and a willingness to work hands-on in the field.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional landscape installation experience.
  • Minimum of 1-year previous crew leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of landscape installation practices, materials, and equipment.
  • Ability to read and execute project plans and layouts.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop team members.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours.
  • Be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Possess a valid driver’s license (of at least 3 years) and a clean driving record.
  • Be able to pass a drug test.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise daily landscape installation activities for assigned crews and project sites.
  • Delegate tasks and provide clear directions to crew members to ensure efficient workflow and quality completion.
  • Train and develop crew members on proper installation methods, safety standards, and company expectations.
  • Conduct daily crew start-ups to review project plans, priorities, and safety expectations.
  • Monitor crew productivity and labor hours to align with project budgets and schedules.
  • Perform landscape installation tasks including planting trees, shrubs, and groundcover; laying sod; mulching; grading; and site cleanup.
  • Read and execute installation plans and layouts accurately.
  • Ensure all installation work meets Sunrise Landscape quality standards and project specifications.
  • Safely operate landscaping and construction equipment including skid steers, trenchers, loaders, and hand tools.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or repair needs.
  • Maintain equipment in clean and safe working conditions.
  • Conduct field inspections to ensure installation quality and proper project execution.
  • Communicate project progress, material needs, and jobsite issues to Superintendents and Project Managers.
  • Identify and communicate potential field issues or delays proactively.
  • Enforce all company safety policies and ensure crew compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Ensure all team members wear required PPE and follow safe work practices.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and incidents according to company procedures.
