About The Position

This position is accountable for the safe operation of company-owned crew boats and will direct the day-to-day operations as well as coordinate onboard activities including operating engines, steering, and maintaining and repairing the vessel. The Crew Boat Captain will be under the direct supervision of the Project Superintendent.

Requirements

  • At a minimum - USCG - Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels Captain's License; Inland
  • Must have a valid TWIC Card
  • Minimum of three (3) years related experience
  • Ability to comply with safety rules and regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with little to no supervision.
  • Ability to work away from home at remote project locations for extended durations.
  • Must be reliable and motivated.
  • Knowledge of operation of various types of marine equipment, tools, and devices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Competencies: stress management/composure, teamwork, results driven.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred - USCG – Master, 50 Gross Tons, Inland

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the safe keeping of the vessel assigned.
  • Responsible to record and report any maintenance issues to your supervisor.
  • Responsible for all housekeeping of the vessel.
  • Work a 12-hour shift, 21/21 rotating schedule from the required field location.
  • Must be able to step from the vessel to the dock.
  • Must be able to pull handle lines for docking and disembarking.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and climb to perform maintenance, minor repairs, and cleaning.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Participates in Safety and Environmental initiatives that will contribute to compliance of State/Federal regulations and improve existing Company programs.
