About The Position

Haig Point Club & Community is seeking experienced and service-minded Ferry Captains to join our dedicated Marine Transportation team. As a Ferry Captain, you will operate vessels ranging from 26’–55’ with skill, professionalism, and care. Safety is always our highest priority, and you will lead by example—ensuring compliance with all local, State, and Federal regulations governing small passenger vessels while providing dependable transportation services to our members and guests.

Requirements

• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Commercial Captain on small passenger vessels
• 50 Ton Inland Masters License or higher
• TWIC Card
• FCC Restricted Radio Operator’s Permit
• Valid CPR/AED and First Aid Certification
• Compliance with USCG and DOT drug-free workplace requirements, including annual physical

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, consistent, and professional service
• Safely operate vessels in a variety of conditions, including high winds, reduced visibility, night operations, towing, anchoring, and close-quarters docking
• Make sound decisions regarding vessel seaworthiness and crew readiness
• Keep operations running smoothly and on schedule
• Handle passenger boarding, cargo securing, departure communications, and detailed log entries
• Ensure vessels are fueled, supplied, clean, and ready for service
• Participate in safety drills and follow all company SOPs
• Assist in training and supporting new team members
• Work collaboratively within a motivated, safety-focused team
