About The Position

We’re hiring a Credit Specialist to help drive informed credit decisions across Celestica’s customer base. You’ll be responsible for analyzing customer financials, ensuring compliance with internal credit policies and recommending strategies to manage and mitigate risk.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in financial analysis, credit evaluation, or enterprise risk management
  • Exceptional analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel with the ability to learn and leverage new systems effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a deadline-driven environment
  • Demonstrated outstanding work ethic and commitment to excellence
  • Basic understanding of specific customer needs.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to consolidate, manipulate and analyze large quantities of data.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and working under tight time deadlines. Ability to evaluate, prioritize and problem solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion.
  • Has a thorough understanding of corporate accounting policies and ensures application of these policies in their daily work.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
  • Able to recommend accounting process changes based on intimate knowledge of accounting processes, policies and procedures. Able to direct others on accounting practices. Able research accounting rules in both U.S. GAAP and GAAP of relevant country.
  • Able to create a profit center or cost center budget identifying key plan drivers. Able to bridge between actual, plan and forecast, analyzing mix impacts and summarizing in management reports.
  • Provide recommendations based on interpretation of results.
  • Able to design/create queries and understands what creates the output. Creates basic spreadsheet macros. Ability to design custom queries in job-related software. Understanding of the relationships between the various tools.
  • Understand how to use political structure in the organization and how to get things done using that structure.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of customer financial statements and supporting documents to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Analyze key financial metrics, including ratios, cash flow, liquidity, and leverage.
  • Assess overall creditworthiness, repayment capacity and exposure to industry-specific risks.
  • Continuously monitor the credit portfolio identifying potential deterioration in customers’ financial positions.
  • Prepare month-end reports on the credit portfolio, high-risk exposures, and recommendations for risk mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with Segment Finance, Sales, and Accounts Receivable teams to effectively resolve credit-related issues.
  • Ensure all credit approvals are in compliance with internal policies.
  • Assist in the development and ongoing refinement of credit policies and procedures.
