You’ll be accountable for performing a range of complex credit management functions for a variety of credit accounts applying experience and knowledge of basic accounting principles. Work with high-level general routines and detailed work procedures but required to apply considerable judgment and discretion when determining appropriate course of action. Responsible for the fulfillment, servicing and management of authorized credit process including ensuring loan documentation is completely and accurately maintained in accordance with credit facilities. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You can effectively perform all work activities remotely, and will only be required to be on-site on an occasional basis.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience in Credit Analysis and Credit Risk.
  • Expertise of loan/security documentation, compliance, audit and control requirements.
  • Familiarity of internal CIBC systems and applications (e.g. COINS/COLT, LAS, Content Manager, ICAP/e-diary).
  • Ability to give meaning to data, investigate complex problems, and make sense of information.
  • Ability to communicate detailed information in a meaningful way.
  • Attention to detail and critical thinking skills to inform decision making.
  • Teamwork skills and ability to work inclusively.
  • Strong sense of curiosity and passion for growing knowledge.
  • Alignment with CIBC values: trust, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Fluency in French and English.
  • Legally eligible to work at the location(s) specified.
  • Valid work or study permit (where applicable).

  • Attribute-based assessment and other skills test (such as simulation, coding, French proficiency) may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Performing a range of complex credit management functions for a variety of credit accounts.
  • Applying experience and knowledge of basic accounting principles.
  • Working with high-level general routines and detailed work procedures, applying considerable judgment and discretion.
  • Fulfilling, servicing, and managing the authorized credit process.
  • Ensuring loan documentation is completely and accurately maintained in accordance with credit facilities.
  • Maintaining open lines of communication with assigned Credit Specialist.
  • Regular contact with internal CIBC employees, teams and departments (e.g. Risk Management, Credit Specialists) at peer and management level to provide and receive information and escalate issues as required.
  • Regular contact with external Solicitors and Canadian Securities Registration System (CSRS) to obtain and clarify information related to loans.
  • Compliance with all CIBC regulatory training and ensuring these programs and policies are applied consistently across the business.
