Requirements

  • Previous experience with Credit Collections preferred
  • Fluency in English and French - verbal and written, preferred
  • Advanced experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Attention to detail required
  • Ability to work at a steady pace maintaining a focus on accuracy
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills required

Responsibilities

  • Plan and follow a systematic schedule of contacting, monitoring, and checking overdue accounts to meet established targets.
  • Review daily credit reports to ensure accuracy of billing and payment method according to terms.
  • Review weekly statements/invoices for a select group of customers, verifying required information is provided before sending to the customer.
  • Review detailed customer requirements and follow as requested.
  • Communicate in writing with detailed back up information to necessary accounts and follow-up by telephone when required.
  • Ensure pros are billed to correct accounts. Solve invoicing problems when necessary. Follow through with adjustments and changes with appropriate departments.
  • Collaborate with internal personnel to ensure Credit policies and procedures are followed
  • Run aging analysis report to help locate delinquent accounts.
  • Analyse payment patterns watching for potential financial difficulties and alert Credit Manager or Credit Supervisor of inability to secure payment after consecutive attempts.
  • Negotiate payment plans as required, with Credit Manager approval.
  • Initiate the process for customers needing to be put on no credit terms.
  • Review collection calls report on a weekly basis. Making sure all assigned accounts are being monitored regularly.
  • Set up new accounts, send out credit application forms, and review applications for accuracy
  • All other duties as required
