About The Position

The Credit Officer supports the Credit Manager and is responsible for financial analysis and underwriting for Evolve Bank & Trust. The role supports commercial loan analysis and underwriting, loan approval, and assessment of borrower risk and repayment ability. It also provides analytical support for special projects, assists with loan-related structuring questions, and contributes to evaluating new loan products and niche markets. The Credit Officer supports and mentors Credit Analysts and works with lenders on training programs and reviews of specific loan concepts and requests.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience in commercial credit analysis, preferably at a financial institution or commercial finance organization.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, economics, finance, or banking, with a strong background in accounting and finance.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize and reprioritize work tasks and deliver work product under tight deadlines.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfort with conflicting views and ability to adequately express one’s point of view.
• Willingness to take ownership of recommendations and balance loan production with the proper risk/reward relationship.
• Ability to work well with peers, lenders, and superiors.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Conduct commercial loan analysis and underwriting.
• Assist lenders with financial analysis, identifying primary risk drivers, structuring loans, assessing overall risk, and evaluating ability to repay.
• Participate in the loan approval process within appropriate authorization.
• Assist Loan Operations in resolving loan-related structure questions.
• Assist in vetting new loan products or niche markets.
• Provide analytical assistance on special projects and requests.
• Support and mentor Credit Analysts.
• Work with lenders on training programs and concept reviews for specific loan requests.
