About The Position

The Credit Officer supports the Credit Manager and is responsible for financial analysis and underwriting for Evolve Bank & Trust. The role includes assisting lenders with commercial loan analysis, assessing risk and repayment ability, participating in loan approvals within the appropriate authorization, and helping Loan Operations resolve loan-structure questions. The Credit Officer also provides analytical support for special projects, helps evaluate new loan products and niche markets, and supports and mentors Credit Analysts. The role involves working with lenders on training programs and reviewing concepts for specific loan requests.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years’ experience in commercial credit analysis, preferably at a financial institution or commercial finance organization.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, economics, finance, or banking, with a strong background in accounting and finance.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize and reprioritize tasks and deliver work under tight deadlines.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfort with conflicting views and ability to express one’s point of view adequately.
• Willingness to take ownership of recommendations and balance loan production with an appropriate risk/reward relationship.
• Ability to work well with peers, lenders, and superiors.

Responsibilities

• Assist lenders with financial analysis, identification of primary risk drivers, loan structuring, overall risk assessment, and assessment of ability to repay.
• Participate in the loan approval process with appropriate authorization.
• Assist Loan Operations in resolving loan-related structure questions.
• Assist with vetting new loan products or niche markets.
• Provide analytical assistance on special projects and requests.
• Support and mentor Credit Analysts.
• Work with lenders on training programs and concept reviews for specific loan requests.
