About The Position

The Wasserstrom Company, a leading Food Service Distributor, is seeking a Credit Analyst for its Columbus, Ohio location. This role is part of a structured training program in a fast-paced environment. The Credit Analyst will be responsible for evaluating and extending credit to customers, managing accounts receivable collections, and contributing to the company's cash flow. Requirements

Minimum of 5-8 years of credit collections experience.
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Intermediate level Excel skills.
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Nice To Haves

SAP background preferred.
High Radius experience desired.

Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of customers for accounts receivable.
Communicate with customers via email or telephone to investigate complaints, verify charge accuracy, or correct account errors.
Negotiate with customers on past due amounts, including establishing and enforcing payment plans.
Evaluate customer records and recommend actions such as closing accounts, extending/reducing credit limits, or initiating collections based on payment history and purchase activity.
Prepare bad debt write-offs for uncollectible accounts.
Investigate cases and make recommendations on refund requests.
Prepare reconciliation spreadsheets (Excel) for customers regarding payment data.
Review files to select delinquent accounts for collection efforts.
Assist in the development of credit rating criteria and credit ceilings with upper management.
Provide insights on current findings and actions taken for all accounts under investigation.
Assist in recommending policies to upper management.
Identify trends and recommend improvements accordingly.
