About The Position

GreatAmerica Financial Services is seeking a Credit Analyst to join their Third-Party Origination Team. This role will support the growing third-party origination (broker) channel by underwriting small- to mid-sized commercial credit transactions sourced through independent brokers and referral partners across various industries. The Credit Analyst will evaluate credit applications for equipment financing and other structured transactions, assess creditworthiness, and make independent decisions or provide well-supported recommendations. This is a fast-paced role that requires balancing risk discipline with responsiveness to support broker relationships and deliver an exceptional customer experience. A typical Credit Analyst handles multiple credit applications daily, depending on complexity, and gains a broad foundation in risk management within GreatAmerica, supporting career advancement.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree with a major or minor in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical ability.
  • Enjoy making independent decisions.
  • Ability to process information quickly.
  • An understanding of financial statements and tax returns.

Responsibilities

  • Perform direct and thorough investigation and obtain relevant credit information to formulate credit decisions within established risk tolerances and prescribed time frames, providing written analysis and justification for the decision.
  • Review, spread and analyze financial statements and/or tax returns as applicable.
  • Utilize credit bureaus and review personal financial statements and/or tax returns as needed to evaluate personal guarantor’s creditworthiness.
  • The primary focus will be within our Third-Party Origination vertical but may also support transactions within our other Specialty Markets divisions as needed.
