About The Position

GreatAmerica’s Credit Analyst Internship is designed to recruit accounting and finance students and build bench strength in the Credit Function. The program gives students firsthand exposure to a career in credit analysis and may lead to full-time employment opportunities. Interns gain practical experience evaluating businesses across various industries, including their credit, economic conditions, and financial situations, and make actual decisions about extending credit.

Interns work in a fast-paced environment and perform the same activities as full-time analysts, including analyzing and making decisions on 10–15 credit applications each day. Applications may involve automotive repair, construction, healthcare, copier, data, or communication equipment originated by vendor partners across the United States. Interns join cross-functional teams that include sales, account support, documentation, and credit staff, working toward shared goals and improved customer service.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business, or a related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Excellent analytical ability.
• Enjoy making individual decisions and be able to process information quickly.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Competencies: honesty/integrity, customer orientation, accountability, tenacity, oral and written communication, and adaptability.
• Position competencies: analytical skills, oral and written communication, honesty, decision making, judgment, problem solving, research skills, self-confidence, and working under pressure.
