About The Position

Assists in the credentialing and privileging process for physicians and other licensed independent providers, as directed by the Manager of Medical Staff Services. Obtains licensure, certification, and insurance certificates/verification prior to expiration and maintains information in database. Conducts health surveillance status as required by Medical Staff and hospital policy. Enters accurate and up-to-date data for each applicant into the database and responds to verification requests. Makes copies, prepares mailings, attends staff meetings, maintains credentials files, etc. Queries the National Practitioner Data Bank, OIG exclusions, and SC State Medical Board as part of the appointment and reappointment processes. Maintains the Referring provider database. Scans files in accordance with policies and procedures. Performs any other work-related duties as requested by the Manager of Medical Staff Services.
