Requirements

  • Must have a bachelor degree in health care, or related field.
  • Must have demonstrated intermediate skills in Microsoft office, especially word, excel, and powerpoint.
  • Must be task and deadline-driven with excellent time management skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and organized.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess a high standard of professional ethics.
  • Must be able to strategically and effectively prioritize assignments and problem-solve in a high volume, interactive environment while maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor.
  • Must be adept at communicating with a broad range of individuals and possess excellent customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated equivalent work experience in the health care field may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Work experience may include in a provider office, managed care organization, or other health care field.
  • Previous credentialing or medical billing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the administrative aspects of managed care credentialing applications.
  • Gathers information needed by payors for contract submission, credentialing, maintenance, and contract changes.
  • Tracks all contract expirations for follow-up with payor for renewal of agreement.
  • Maintains credentialing spreadsheets, distributes information appropriately, and works with state Medicaid enrollment and maintenance.
