The Credential Coordinator ensures that practitioners (Physicians, Podiatrists, Dentists, Psychologists, and Advanced Practice Providers) are properly credentialed in order to comply with applicable legal, professional, and regulatory requirements. Manages the credentialing process for all applicants to the Medical Staff and/or Advanced Practice Provider staff as well as those seeking an extension of their clinical privileges. Collaborates with managers and directors of other hospital departments to ensure that Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers are only performing procedures for which they are credentialed. Active participant on Credentials Committee. Coordinates related materials for committee action and prepares report for Medical Executive Committee and Board of Directors for final approval. Manages Physician and Advanced Practice Providers Peer Review process related to Credentialing and Privileging. Active participant in process improvement related to Credentialing and Privileging. Conducts research around credentialing criteria for new procedures and collaborates with Medical Staff leadership in the development of new privileges and clinical programs. Manages credentialing database including implementation of new programs and updates. Other duties as assigned.
