About The Position

Deeplocal is seeking an inventive, creative, and technical Creative Technology Intern for summer 2027. This internship sits at the intersection of art and technology, supporting interactive experiences for major brands. Interns work alongside staff on active client projects and receive hands-on experience and mentorship from professionals in the field.

The intern applies software skills to help develop new concepts and technology-enabled experiences. Work may include prototypes, systems supporting experiences, and interactive exhibits, ranging from full-stack web applications and machine vision applications to choreographed robotic motion. The role is based in Deeplocal’s studio in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The internship pays $29–$37 per hour. The specific rate depends on the candidate’s relevant experience and anticipated graduation date.

Requirements

• Strong software skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience with web development, React, and Node.js.
• Experience working with APIs.
• Familiarity with getting software to communicate with hardware components, including inputs and outputs such as microcontrollers, sensors, and lighting systems.
• Creative, collaborative, and resourceful problem-solving; enthusiasm for new challenges and work that has never been done before.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with creative development platforms such as TouchDesigner or Unreal.
• Experience with networking and intra-network communication, including having components communicate over a network.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of prototypes, experience-supporting systems, and interactive exhibits.
• Work on projects that may involve full-stack web applications, machine vision applications, or choreographed robotic motions.
• Work with project technical team leads to define, explore, and test technical approaches and solutions for integrated projects.
• Deliver flexible code that works and can be adapted to changing requirements.
