About The Position

Mare Island Brewing Co. is looking for a Creative Marketing Coordinator to join their growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who wants hands-on experience across many areas of marketing — from social media and design to events, merchandise, and their Yardbird Beer Club. The brewery is built on the rich 143-year history of the Mare Island Naval Shipyard, and the role involves telling these stories in creative and engaging ways. This position is based at their Coal Shed Brewery, located on the Mare Island waterfront in Vallejo, CA, with occasional travel between their taprooms on the Vallejo waterfront and in downtown Benicia.

Requirements

Associate or bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, or equivalent work experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of design tools (Adobe Creative Suite or similar), strong photography skills, and a keen eye for visuals.
Strong writing skills with a knack for storytelling.
Comfortable with social media (Instagram and Facebook) and eager to learn more.
Organized, reliable, and able to juggle multiple projects.
A team player who’s excited to wear many hats.
Passion for craft beer and curiosity about our history.

Responsibilities

Plan, create, and publish content for social media channels that connects people with our beer, our story, and our taprooms.
Assist with the design and production of creative assets and on-brand marketing materials.
Engage with our online community and Yardbird Beer Club members — answering questions and building connections.
Support events and beer releases with on-site coverage, photography, and promotions.
Help manage our merchandise program — from the online store to our taprooms.
Coordinate logistics to support ongoing marketing activities — including beer festivals, donations, and beer club releases.
Pitch in wherever needed to keep our brand looking sharp and consistent.
