About The Position

Kodiak Robotics, Inc. is seeking a Creative Lead to enhance the quality, consistency, and efficiency of their marketing efforts across all major platforms. This senior, hands-on role involves leading campaign strategy, shaping visual and verbal storytelling, mentoring team members, and executing creative work. The Creative Lead will be instrumental in distributing creative ownership, establishing messaging and storytelling standards, and overseeing the work of existing team members. This position is crucial for improving creative output, increasing productivity, and building a more robust and independent marketing department.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in creative, brand, design, or campaign-focused roles.
  • Experience at an agency and/or in-house brand team known for high output and a high creative bar.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating brand identity work, campaign development, and cross-channel creative execution.
  • Demonstrated strength in both visual and voice storytelling.
  • Experience guiding creative direction while also contributing hands-on to the work.
  • Strong instincts for typography, composition, layout, storytelling, and brand expression.
  • Ability to move fluidly between big-picture thinking and execution detail.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment with shifting priorities and multiple active projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity, make decisions, and keep work moving.
  • Experience providing creative feedback and guiding the work of others.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Google Workspace, and common creative/collaboration tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience helping create, evolve, or sharpen a brand identity.
  • Experience building campaigns from concept through rollout.
  • Experience across B2B and/or B2C brands.
  • Tech experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience with photo and video direction or production support.
  • Motion, video, or editorial sensibility.
  • Comfort working on a lean team where speed, adaptability, and ownership matter.

Responsibilities

  • Lead creative direction for major marketing initiatives, campaigns, launches, and company events.
  • Develop strong campaign concepts and execute them effectively across various channels.
  • Define and maintain the visual and verbal identity of the Kodiak brand in marketing materials.
  • Establish and uphold high standards for creative quality, consistency, and clarity.
  • Create scalable ideas that can be adapted from large-scale brand efforts to smaller daily tasks.
  • Guide creative development for web, social media, presentations, paid advertising, events, partner collaborations, and other marketing collateral.
  • Ensure all creative work is on-brand, suitable for its channel, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with marketing leadership to translate strategy into clear and compelling creative content.
  • Help define and refine messaging and copy standards across all content.
  • Oversee and improve the work produced by the current designer and content producer.
  • Provide clear creative direction, constructive feedback, and rigorous quality control.
  • Facilitate project progression by making decisions, removing obstacles, and maintaining momentum.
  • Support a more distributed and efficient creative operating model by increasing ownership and reducing reliance on a single point of approval.
  • Directly contribute to concept development, writing, design, editing, and refinement of creative work, particularly in the initial stages.
  • Support both polished campaign work and faster, more agile executions.
  • Assist with production planning, creative reviews, and photo/video direction.
  • Work with a sense of urgency and sound judgment, knowing when to push boundaries and when to proceed efficiently.
