About The Position

This position is located in Airway Heights, WA, and REQURIES daily in-person office presence. Remote or Hybrid options are NOT available. POSITION SUMMARYThe Creative Director is the strategic and creative leader responsible for defining and owning the brand’s vision, voice, and visual identity for Spokane Tribe Resort & Casino. This position sets the creative direction for the entire property. Establishing how the brand looks, sounds, and feels across every guest touchpoint and ensuring that all marketing communications, advertising, signage, digital content, and promotional materials reflect a unified, compelling, and professionally executed brand experience. Portfolio Requirement:Applicants are required to submit a portfolio showcasing relevant creative work. Portfolios may be attached directly to your resume or included as a link within your resume. Applications without a portfolio will not be considered.

Requirements

  • Portfolio of creative work REQUIRED
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, or a closely related creative field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in creative design, advertising, brand development, and visual communications, with at least two (2) years in a creative leadership or creative director role overseeing a multi-disciplinary creative team. An equivalent combination of education, training, and directly related professional experience may be considered in lieu of stated requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience building or managing an in-house creative department or leading an agency creative team, including direct supervision of designers, content creators, and/or multimedia specialists.
  • Proven track record of establishing, evolving, or revitalizing a brand’s visual identity and voice across multiple channels and touchpoints.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of creative work across print, digital, social media, environmental design, and multimedia/video that reflects brand-building capability.
  • Experience managing creative production budgets and vendor/contractor relationships.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects) and familiarity with tools such as Canva, Figma, or similar platforms.
  • Strong command of brand strategy, visual storytelling, typography, layout, color theory, and their application to integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business objectives into a cohesive brand vision and compelling creative concepts that resonate with target audiences.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to inspire, develop, and hold creative talent accountable.
  • Outstanding project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, competing priorities, and firm deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate creative vision, present concepts, and build consensus with senior leadership and non-creative stakeholders. Read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Working knowledge of digital marketing channels, social media platforms, email marketing, web design principles, content management systems, and emerging content formats.
  • Proficient with video production, photography direction, and multimedia content creation.
  • Strong understanding of print production processes, pre-press requirements, and vendor coordination.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to support property events, promotions, and campaign deadlines.
  • Move efficiently throughout the work area.
  • Obtain and maintain a valid gaming license.

Nice To Haves

  • Casino, resort, hospitality, or entertainment industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Tribal gaming experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and support a culture of excellence at Spokane Tribe Resort & Casino by modeling STRC values, delivering exceptional guest service, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism and ethics.
  • Provide exceptional guest service throughout all interactions.
  • Own and lead the brand’s vision, voice, and overall visual identity for the property, serving as the primary creative authority on how STRC is represented in every medium and at every guest touchpoint.
  • Develop, document, and maintain comprehensive brand standards and guidelines, including logo usage, typography, color palettes, photography and illustration style, tone of voice, and messaging hierarchy that clearly define the look, sound, and personality of the STRC brand.
  • Ensure all creative output across the organization is consistent with and reinforces the established brand standards, from large-scale advertising campaigns to day-to-day operational signage and internal communications.
  • Continuously evaluate and evolve the brand’s creative positioning to keep the property fresh, relevant, and differentiated within the regional gaming, entertainment, and hospitality market.
  • Serve as the brand’s creative gatekeeper by providing final review and approval of all marketing and advertising materials before production, publication, or distribution.
  • Ensure that the brand voice and visual identity respectfully and authentically reflect the Spokane Tribe’s heritage, culture, and values in all creative work.
  • Lead the creative development of all marketing and advertising campaigns from concept through final execution across print, digital, social media, broadcast, outdoor, direct mail, email, on-property signage, and point-of-sale materials.
  • Partner with operational departments (Casino Operations, Food & Beverage, Hotel, Entertainment, Player Development) to understand promotional objectives and translate them into compelling, on-brand creative strategies.
  • Manage the full creative production cycle, including concepting, creative briefs, copywriting direction, design, photography and videography direction, pre-press coordination, and final quality checks.
  • Develop creative concepts that drive measurable results through guest visits, event attendance, promotional participation, brand awareness, and social media engagement.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors (printers, photographers, videographers, specialty fabricators) when needed, maintaining quality standards and cost controls
  • Provide creative direction for all digital marketing assets, including the STRC website, email campaigns, digital advertising, app content, and in-house digital displays.
  • Guide the social media content strategy from a creative and brand perspective, ensuring the property’s voice and visual identity are consistent across all platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, etc.).
  • Oversee the production of video, animation, and multimedia content for social media, website, broadcast, in-house screens, and special projects.
  • Stay current with digital design trends, social media platform updates, content best practices, and emerging technologies (AI-assisted design tools, motion graphics, interactive content) to maximize engagement and reach.
  • Develop and manage the creative services budget, including production costs, vendor and contractor fees, stock media subscriptions, software licensing, equipment, and supply needs.
  • Evaluate and recommend creative tools, software, and technology investments to improve team efficiency and output quality.
  • Track project timelines, resource utilization, and production costs to ensure efficient operations and fiscal responsibility.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Marketing and senior leadership to align the creative vision with property-wide business goals, revenue targets, and guest experience objectives.
  • Attend and actively participate in marketing planning meetings, property leadership meetings, campaign reviews, and post-promotion analysis sessions.
  • Support the development of presentations, reports, and visual materials for executive leadership and Tribal Council as needed.
  • Ensure all creative work complies with applicable advertising regulations, including any restrictions on claims, imagery, or promotional offers.
  • Set creative expectations, assign projects, manage workflows, establish production schedules, and ensure the team delivers high-quality work on time and within budget.
  • Conduct regular creative reviews, provide constructive and actionable feedback, and foster a culture of creative excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify skill gaps and training opportunities for creative staff in areas such as design software, video production, photography, emerging platforms, and storytelling techniques.
  • Participate in the recruitment, selection, onboarding, and performance evaluation of creative team members.
  • Build a collaborative team environment that encourages creative risk-taking, innovation, and professional growth.
  • Create, maintain, and facilitate a positive and safe work environment; promote healthy team member relations and report concerns to appropriate personnel.
