About The Position

Farmgirl Flowers is seeking a Creative Director to enhance its brand presence across writing, visuals, video, and campaigns. This role involves sharpening the brand's consistency, clarity, and strength as the company continues to grow. The ideal candidate will have experience pushing a brand's taste and point of view forward, with a proven ability to generate and execute ideas. This is a hands-on role where the Creative Director will be actively involved in writing copy, conceptualizing, storyboarding, art-directing shoots, and capturing content. The position reports to the Director of Marketing and collaborates closely with the CEO and internal/external teams. The goal is to raise and maintain the creative standard across all output.

Requirements

  • At least 4-5 years of experience leading creative teams or projects at a brand or agency within 8-10+ years of overall experience.
  • Proven experience as the final approver for campaigns and shoots, while also being hands-on in execution.
  • Fluency across core creative software: Adobe Creative Suite, Google Workspace.
  • Comfort with video editing tools such as Premiere, CapCut, or similar.
  • Experience working with photographers, videographers, designers, and copywriters, with the ability to elicit high-quality work from them.
  • Understanding of how modern Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) brands grow, including email, SMS, paid social, organic social, PR, and partnerships, and how creative functions across these channels.
  • Resourcefulness and ability to work with available tools rather than waiting for ideal setups.
  • Experience working with brands in their scrappy stages, not just fully-resourced ones.
  • Several years of experience creating content (photo, video, storytelling), with comfort shooting and editing on an iPhone or camera.
  • Ability to write in a natural, authentic voice that avoids marketing jargon.
  • Low ego and high ownership mentality.
  • Ability to step in where needed, take responsibility, and not overcomplicate tasks.
  • Comfort working in a hands-on, sometimes messy, cold, or chaotic environment.
  • Ability to take a loose idea and develop it into clear, actionable, and completed work.
  • Proficiency in using tools, including AI, to accelerate work and improve quality without outsourcing critical thinking.
  • A genuine love for effective storytelling.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end creative output of Farmgirl Flowers across all channels and maintain the standard for that output.
  • Make day-to-day creative decisions, trusted to make calls and move projects forward.
  • Set the standard for great creative work across campaigns, email, social, and shoots, and ensure the team understands the 'why' behind successful strategies.
  • Deeply understand the brand and articulate what works, what doesn't, and why, to improve the team's overall performance.
  • Consistently generate a high volume of ideas for campaign concepts, content directions, partnership creative, and long-term brand strategies.
  • Be actively involved in the creative work, including writing copy, capturing content on the farm, art-directing or setting up shoots, and ensuring tasks are completed.
  • Manage freelancers and creative partners (photographers, videographers, designers), including finding the right talent, briefing them clearly, pushing for quality, and ensuring project completion.
  • Ensure the brand is presented clearly and effectively across all platforms, including press, partnerships, and web.
  • Protect and maintain the Farmgirl voice (human, warm, witty, specific, grounded, never gimmicky) across all channels, partners, and campaigns.
