About The Position

Pinterest is looking for an exceptional Creative Director to lead its advertiser narratives. This role will be responsible for keynotes, thought leadership, executive communications, and B2B campaigns that influence how marketers perceive and utilize the platform. The ideal candidate will be a strategist, a skilled writer, and capable of building a scalable function across Business Marketing, Sales, and Comms. This position is crucial for driving growth by leveraging Pinterest's strength in storytelling for B2B narratives. The role emphasizes the use of AI as a partner in creativity and requires candidates who can articulate their thought process and approach to problem-solving. Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with deep experience in B2B, advertiser, and/or marketer-facing work, ideally at the intersection of brand storytelling and performance or platform marketing.
  • A portfolio demonstrating the ability to turn complex business and product stories into clear, differentiated narratives that resonate with senior decision-makers (CMOs, brand leaders, media leads, agency heads).
  • Demonstrated experience leading keynotes, tentpole events, or large-scale B2B campaigns for global brands, ideally in tech, platforms, or media, where storytelling and deck craft were critical to success.
  • Expert narrative and writing skills, capable of moving from high-level narrative architecture to line-level craft and shifting tone appropriately for different formats.
  • Strong creative leadership and partnership skills, with comfort in giving clear direction and navigating feedback from senior stakeholders.
  • Comfort using AI tools as a force multiplier for drafting, structuring, and iterating on creative ideas, while maintaining ownership of the story, judgment, and final outcomes.
  • High bias for clarity and pragmatism, with the ability to simplify complexity and focus teams on key messages for advertisers.
  • A collaborative, low-ego partner with curiosity, humility, and rigor, excited to help define how a challenger brand like Pinterest shows up in the B2B space.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as marketing, communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own Pinterest’s Brand Narratives function within the marketing org, setting the creative vision, quality bar, and strategic direction for high-impact work including event keynotes, executive messaging, advertiser positioning, industry thought leadership, and scaled B2B content.
  • Lead the end-to-end development of Pinterest’s biggest storytelling moments, such as Pinterest Presents (flagship advertiser summit), Pinterest Predicts (annual trend report and campaign), and major tentpole events.
  • Partner directly with C-suite and senior executives to develop their thought leadership voice, including writing speeches, talking points, and narratives.
  • Drive Pinterest’s B2B messaging strategy in close partnership with Product Marketing, Business Marketing, Research, and Legal, developing and ensuring adoption of company-wide frameworks.
  • Partner with Creative Directors, writers, designers, and producers across House of Creative to bring narratives to life across various formats (decks, films, event experiences, digital content, social) with advertisers as the primary audience.
  • Lead and develop a team of senior writers, setting the creative culture, establishing ways of working, and scaling editorial judgment.
  • Utilize AI fluently to accelerate research synthesis, streamline feedback loops, and improve content development speed and quality, while maintaining craft, accuracy, and audience relevance.
  • Act as a connective tissue, collaborating across Brand Research, Partner Insights, Business Marketing, PMM, Comms, Legal, and Ops to ensure cohesive execution.
