About The Position

Riveredge Hospital is seeking a Creative Arts Therapist to provide treatment to assigned patients through organized activities tailored to their age and population. Treatment is provided individually or in groups. Applicants may have certification or licensure in a specialty such as dance/movement, art, music, drama, or recreation, and may discuss their interests with the hiring manager if selected for an interview.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Music, Drama, Art, Dance/Movement, or Recreation Therapy; a master’s degree is required if required by the area of specialty.
• Registered, board certified, or certified in the national association for the relevant specialty area, or have registration or certification pending.
• Successful completion of education with experience in the field.
• Maintain compliance with hospital annual competencies, CPR, and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI).
• Thorough understanding of patient milieu management, including age-specific and cultural requirements.
• Knowledge of JCAHO, CMS, OSHA, and other relevant state and federal regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Use organized, age- and population-specific activities as part of patient treatment.
• Provide treatment individually or in groups to all assigned patients.
