The Creative Arts Therapist will plan and implement individual and group Creative Arts Therapy programs appropriate for the inpatient psychiatry setting. This role involves providing case management, carrying a caseload, and coordinating case management as defined by the setting. The therapist will assess patient status, assist patients in problem identification, and develop realistic, disposition-oriented treatment plans. They will follow patient progress, make treatment plan recommendations, and coordinate all treatment for their caseload. Additionally, the therapist will make specific program and treatment recommendations regarding the creative/expressive needs of patients, and develop/adapt treatment goals and modalities for patients unable to tolerate group interactions. When credentialed and/or adequately supervised, the therapist may conduct group therapy or other specialized treatment modalities. Documentation of patient progress must be neat, clear, and timely, following the unit’s standards.
