Requirements

  • Four years of research experience using computerized applications to independently gather, compile, and analyze data and prepare narrative or statistical reports; OR A bachelor's degree in any discipline that included six-quarter units in statistics or quantitative analysis methods and procedures, and one year experience using computerized applications to independently gather, compile, and analyze data and prepare narrative or statistical reports.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct crash data review and develop reports, dashboards, and data products using tools such as SQL, Power BI, Tableau, and Excel.
  • Serve as the unit’s subject matter expert on the Crash Data System (CDS) and national crash data standards.
  • Act as the business lead and system administrator for the crash data system, coordinating enhancements and troubleshooting with IS and system vendors.
  • Develop and maintain data quality processes, validation procedures, and quality control documentation.
  • Produce custom crash data reports for internal and external partners, including engineers, planners, safety programs, and media.
  • Prepare and update manuals, data dictionaries, coding instructions, and user guides.
  • Train new and existing analysts in crash data coding, analysis, and system use.
  • Consult with ODOT staff, law enforcement, safety partners, and public agencies on crash data methods and interpretation.
  • Represent the unit at meetings and conferences, explaining crash data processes, standards, and system functionality.
  • Support development of annual publications and maintain libraries of standard reports and data resources.
