About The Position

The crane operator-rigger 1st class must have the ability to operate any and all equipment, must also have all appropriate certifications and licenses, and must be an on the job safety person. He/she must comply with all safety procedures and guidelines, and comply with all company issued policies, procedures, rules and regulations. He/she must also have excellent work ethic including excellent attendance, punctually, and the desire to complete designated work in a timely fashion.

Requirements

  • Must have a Rhode Island license to operate a Lattice Crane.
  • Must have a Rhode Island license to operate a Hydraulic Crane.
  • Must have a minimum of one (1) year supervised training in all Cranes.
  • Must be a self starter.
  • Must have strong communications skills and be able to explain job status to supervisors and subordinates.
  • Must be able to meet the work schedule.
  • Must be able to maintain a clean work environment.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Senesco job hazard analysis.
  • Must be physically able to work in all areas of the shipyard.

Responsibilities

  • Operate any and all equipment.
  • Comply with all safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Comply with all company issued policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Complete designated work in a timely fashion.
  • Operate any and all equipment in the yard with little or no supervision.
  • Perform a multitude of job duties.
  • Identify and report any and all problems and discrepancies to the appropriate department.
  • Receive verbal and written instructions and perform job duties in budgeted time frames.
  • Learn new techniques and have the ability to troubleshoot problems.
  • Read, write, and implement technical information.
  • Adhere to and promote all environmental, safety and health policies.
  • Teach others the basic fundamentals of rigging.
  • Meet the work schedule.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Senesco job hazard analysis.
  • Physically work in all areas of the shipyard.
  • Complete any other task or assignment as directed by a supervisor.
  • Report all accidents or injuries to their supervisor and the Environmental Safety and Health Department.
  • Report to their supervisor any and all damages to equipment, or broken and misused tools.
