About The Position

The Hydraulic Crane Technician is a key position at our QMC Cranes facility. You’re primarily working in an automotive shop and responsible for the layout and execution of the electrical wiring, tear-down and assembly for the hydraulic cranes on class-eight heavy duty trucks. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you’ll primarily work with other technicians and the welding team. A highlight of your day to day will include: Planning and execution of complete electrical system including junction boxes, and vehicle interface wiring. Reading and interpreting assembly drawings and associated hydraulic & electrical schematics. Planning and execution of installation of hydraulic hoses, fittings, valves, and other hydraulic components. Assembles and installs hydraulic systems on cranes, including pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, and other hydraulic components to ensure system efficiency and performance. Ensure proper calibration of hydraulic systems to optimize crane performance and safety. Install, wire, and configure electrical systems for cranes, including control boxes, relays, truck and crane lighting systems, hydraulic valves, wireless remote systems, and vehicle interface wiring. Perform electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics on crane systems to identify and resolve faults. Troubleshoots and resolves assembly and functionality issues, including mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical discrepancies. Assist in the commissioning and testing of cranes after assembly to ensure operational readiness. Works independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Reads and interprets hydraulic and electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure proper system assembly.
