The Craft Manager overseeing the NMS Rigging personnel will oversee daily rigging operations throughout the NMS facility by maintaining a high-performance standard, setting expectations, and holding staff accountable. This role is responsible for managing senior leadership assignments and monitoring the productivity of each project. A strong sense of Safety, Productivity, and Quality assurance is essential, as well as providing technical assistance and generally managing multiple levels of direct reports within the Shop. Key areas of focus will be to review, revise, and develop process procedures within the ship that will align with safety as a core value. The manager will work with direct reports to develop and/or review project schedules and budgets during the planning phase, allocate personnel and resources to efficiently support all contracts (including shift work), and oversee and monitor schedule performance. This includes reviewing ongoing and upcoming projects, investigating late activities, project supervision, and developing practical solutions. The role also involves monitoring and evaluating project budget performance, including reviewing ongoing and upcoming projects, developing productivity enhancements, and investigating over-budget items. Personnel-related functions include supervision of employees, performance management, workforce reductions, promotions, demotions, and discipline. The manager will ensure employees understand and adhere to Company policies, and will train and motivate employees in technical knowledge, safety, environmental awareness, and communication. Ensuring that requirements of the labor agreement are satisfied is also a key responsibility. The role requires working a variety of shifts.
