About The Position
The Portfolio Management Division at STScI is seeking a Project Manager who will be responsible for successfully leading and managing projects and performing analysis of business processes and information. STScI’s portfolio management division expects project managers to support the full enterprise across science operations, business operations, engineering, software development, etc. Project managers are expected to utilize business analysis skills to improve the enterprise’s ability to operate efficiently. Additionally, project managers should be able to use their analysis to improve execution on their projects and strategic priorities. This is a hybrid position, with three days a week on-site in Baltimore, Maryland. Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to our local market. (MD, DE, VA, PA, DC & WV). This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Residence in order to meet ITAR requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology
- Three years’ project management experience
- Proficiency in program and project management tools
Nice To Haves
- PMI certification(s) such as PMP, ACP
- Experience working across multiple projects
- Business analysis experience
- Experience analyzing and improving operations
Responsibilities
- Lead projects through all stages of a project life cycle
- Perform analysis of business processes and information
- Support the full enterprise across science operations, business operations, engineering, software development, etc.
- Utilize business analysis skills to improve the enterprise’s ability to operate efficiently
- Use analysis to improve execution on projects and strategic priorities
- Executive engagement and communication
- Self-direction in planning and executing tasks and responsibilities
- Perform analysis that connects difficult to identify trends
- Quickly summarize large amounts of information
- Communication planning and execution to large groups of stakeholders

- Troubleshoot problems in real time

- Quickly adapt to changing priorities
- Balance multiple priorities and multi-tasking
- Successfully work in high pressure situations
