About The Position

The Craft Helper assists skilled craft workers (e.g., welders, pipefitters, electricians) with various tasks on construction sites, ensuring efficient operations and a safe working environment. This entry-level position is crucial for supporting project success and gaining valuable experience in industrial construction.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) repeatedly throughout the workday.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong work ethic and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the job site in Sherman, Texas.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior experience in construction or industrial settings is a plus but not required.
  • Basic understanding of construction site safety is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Transport and stage materials, tools, and equipment to and from work areas.
  • Clean and prepare work sites, including debris removal, sweeping, and maintaining a tidy environment.
  • Assist craftspeople by holding materials, handing tools, and performing basic tasks as directed.
  • Operate small hand and power tools under supervision.
  • Support the assembly and disassembly of temporary structures, scaffolding, and work platforms.
  • Follow all safety regulations, company policies, and procedures diligently.
  • Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Learn and develop new skills by observing and assisting experienced craft workers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support project needs.
