CPP Instructor
About The Position
Glenmont Job Corps Center is seeking a motivated and supportive Career Preparation Program (CPP) Instructor to help newly enrolled students successfully begin their Job Corps journey. CPP is one of the first stages of a student's experience at Job Corps. You'll help students adjust to Center life, understand expectations, identify career goals, develop workplace skills, and prepare to transition into their chosen career training program. This role is part instructor, part career coach, part mentor, and part student success guide. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:45 AM-4:45 PM.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must possess a valid in-state Driver’s License and meet the Company insurability requirements.
Nice To Haves
- A degree from an accredited school preferred.
- Previous group facilitation, teaching or Job Corps experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide engaging Career Preparation instruction and help students develop skills they'll need throughout Job Corps.
- Help students identify interests, establish career goals, and develop individualized achievement plans.
- Monitor student performance, identify students who may need additional support, and help keep them moving toward successful CPP completion.
- Build positive professional relationships while helping students develop confidence, accountability, and independence.
- Maintain an organized, engaging, and supportive learning environment with clear expectations.
- Prepare students to move successfully from Career Preparation into academics, Career Technical Training, and other areas of the Job Corps program.
- Complete required student documentation and follow all program integrity and reporting requirements.
- Help coordinate important pre-arrival and orientation activities, including pre-arrival student contact, transportation coordination, CPP Welcome Celebrations, student needs assessments, center tours, and staff introductions and orientation activities.
