About The Position

This is a student employment position within the Office of Community Engagement, specifically for Federal Work-Study students. The role of CPA Junior Reintegration Mentor involves assisting high school boys with career readiness activities, conducting pre-employment workshops and counseling, and performing outreach to identify employment or internship opportunities. The mentor is expected to model professionalism, reliability, and positive communication.

Requirements

• Interest in youth development, career readiness, corrections and/or education.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Cultural competency.
• Must be 18 years old.
• Will be required to complete site trainings.

Responsibilities

• Assist high school boys with career readiness activities.
• Conduct pre-employment workshops and/or counseling sessions.
• Conduct outreach in Hamden to identify employment or internship opportunities for youth.
• Model professionalism, reliability, and positive communication.
• Other duties as assigned.
