About The Position

The Keefe Community Center Food Pantry Assistant is a student employment position within the Office of Community Engagement, funded by Federal Work-Study. This role involves assisting with the operations of the food pantry, including receiving and stocking food, assisting residents, and supporting special initiatives.

Requirements

  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Must be able to work between 6-8 hours per week within the operational hours of the center (9:00am-4:00pm Monday – Friday).

Responsibilities

  • Receiving and unloading food or boxes from delivery trucks, and ensure that they are properly put away in storage areas.
  • Inventory, and stock food products on the days food is received or picked up.
  • Assist Town residents visiting the pantry.
  • Assist with special yearly initiatives such as Thanksgiving baskets, donation drives, snack bag program for local students and food preparation demonstrations, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
