About The Position

The Cathodic Protection (CP) Construction Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the field installation of cathodic protection systems, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with design specifications and industry standards. This hands-on leadership role requires deep knowledge of CP systems (both galvanic and impressed current), construction practices, and safety protocols. The Foreman leads a field crew, manages day-to-day operations, communicates with project managers, and ensures project milestones are met. Must be available for significant travel, typically 2 - 3 weeks at a time (daily per diem and own hotel room provided when traveling).

Requirements

  • 2 – 5 years of experience in cathodic protection construction or installation
  • 1+ years of experience leading cathodic protection construction crews
  • High School Diploma
  • Valid Class A CDL with an acceptable driving record and ability to pass a DOT drug test and physical

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience leading cathodic protection construction crews
  • Experience with cathodic protection installation for above ground storage tanks
  • Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor experience
  • NACE/AMPP CP Level 1
  • TWIC Card

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate field crew activities for CP system installations on pipelines, tanks, and other structures.
  • Ensure crew adherence to safety procedures, quality standards, and project timelines.
  • Assign daily tasks, oversee progress, and provide on-site training or mentoring as needed.
  • Conduct site safety meetings and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Oversee installation of CP systems including anodes, rectifiers, wiring, test stations, and grounding.
  • Ensure proper trenching, backfilling, welding, and electrical continuity testing are completed per spec.
  • Perform or supervise field testing such as voltage checks, continuity testing, and system energization.
  • Interpret CP system drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate equipment, materials, and subcontractors to ensure timely project execution.
  • Communicate project progress, issues, and crew performance to the Project Manager or Superintendent.
  • Maintain accurate daily field reports, time sheets, and equipment logs.
  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with NACE (AMPP), OSHA, and company standards.
  • Identify and resolve quality or technical issues on-site.
  • Ensure all documentation (as-builts, test data, etc.) is completed accurately and submitted on time.
