Requirements

  • Personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a desire to help children and families grow in their faith.
  • Experience working and/or serving with children in a church, school, or other ministry setting.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, experienced in coordinating schedules, team members, and ministry programming.
  • Ability to recruit, train, and care for team members.
  • Strong communication and relational skills, demonstrating the ability to interact positively with children, parents, team members, and church staff.
  • Flexible and adaptable, skilled in responding calmly and positively to changing needs and unexpected situations.
  • Professional, dependable, and trustworthy, exhibiting maturity and good judgment.
  • Basic computer and technology skills, including scheduling and databases.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience working with children or in kid's ministry.
  • Experience coordinating or leading team members.
  • Experience planning kid's ministry events, programs, or activities.
  • Experience working with children from birth through elementary age.
  • Ministry, education, early childhood, or related training/education are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of Cove Kids (6 weeks - 5th grade, Welcome Team, Safety Team).
  • Ensure proper ratios of team members to children are maintained in Cove Kids.
  • Recruit, train, and equip team members for Cove Kids.
  • Attend all Cove Kids meetings and ensure Cove Kids is prepared for weekend services (material, scheduling, etc.).
  • Develop and build relationships not only within Cove Kids but the entire campus.
  • Promote and encourage participation in the Five Habits (Life Groups, Serving Teams, weekend service attendance, daily quiet time and giving).
  • Engage with local schools and organizations to build connections within the community.
  • Demonstrate a team spirit and avoid the tendency to develop “tunnel vision” (while each ministry team is vital, they should complement instead of competing with each another).
  • Cultivate a strong working relationship with the Campus Pastor and be willing to adjust and collaborate to help serve the campus (even if it means stepping into a role or responsibility not outlined in the listed responsibilities).
  • Live a life worthy of the calling as taught in Ephesians 4.
  • Live the Mission of The Cove Church, Values, and 5 Habits.
  • Adhere to and encompass the qualities and characteristics required of The Cove Church employees, as defined by the Ministry Policy Manual and Staff Handbook.
  • Faithfully tithing consistently at least 10% of all personal income to God’s work through The Cove Church.
