About The Position

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least three (3) years of responsible experience in a moderately complex office or business setting involving the processing of financial, administrative, or legal documents.
  • Experience performing a variety of clerical or administrative support tasks with strict, and often competing, deadlines in a fast-paced business or professional setting.
  • Experience using a computer and different software programs to accomplish a variety of tasks that involve data entry, looking up accounts or cases, scheduling events in electronic calendars, and updating information.
  • Experience providing customer service to a variety of individuals in challenging circumstances.
  • Skill in writing and reviewing documents for accuracy and content.
  • Experience identifying and safeguarding confidential information and materials.

Responsibilities

  • Create a digital recording of court proceedings and operate multimedia equipment.
  • Perform real-time data entry, keep session logs, and prepare and process a variety of documents, forms, and orders.
  • Mark and process exhibits, swear in witnesses and jurors, and oversee jurors during deliberations.
  • Host remote court sessions over the phone or through video conferences using Cisco Webex.
  • Clerk court sessions that may be in person at offsite locations such as the jail and medical facilities.
  • Partner with other court staff to provide administrative support.
  • Schedule in-person and remote hearings.
  • Prepare cases for the next day’s calendar.
  • Maintain and store court logs.
  • Review and prepare copies of CDs.
  • Return exhibits and accept electronic filings.
  • Scan documents, verify the quality of the scanned images, and enter the documents into the electronic case management system.
  • Respond to questions about court cases, calendars, and processes from judges, court staff, attorneys, litigants, agencies, and the public.
  • Provide customer service in person, over the phone, and in writing.
