About The Position

The Courtesy Patrol Officer observes and reports incidents on assigned properties, enforces property rules and regulations, and escalates concerns to property management or law enforcement as needed to support the safety and security of residents and property. The role involves documenting patrol activity and incidents, responding to management communications, maintaining cleanliness, following security procedures, and attending required training.

The position is based at Siegel Select Birmingham in Birmingham, Alabama. The work environment is described as fun and dynamic, with ongoing customer interactions and schedule flexibility that includes nights and weekends. The role requires continuous standing and walking during shifts, as well as bending, lifting, carrying, kneeling, and sitting.

Requirements

• Able to obtain a valid security license in applicable jurisdictions.
• Able to obtain a security belt, handcuffs, flashlight, and pepper spray.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Legally able to work within State and Federal guidelines.
• Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout each shift.
• Ability to bend, lift, and carry up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to handle constant face-to-face customer interactions.
• Ability to multitask and remain positive in busy working conditions.
• Schedule flexibility, including nights and weekends.
• Comply with brand and Company uniform and hygiene policies.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of security experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe and report activity on assigned properties.
• Use incident reports to document use of force, law enforcement activity, guest injuries, and property damage.
• Maintain a daily activity report documenting patrols, guest communications, property violations, safety concerns, light surveys, vacancy inspections, and other relevant information.
• Receive calls from management about operational changes, services, or general communications.
• Sweep, mop, or vacuum floors on an ongoing basis.
• Read and follow security procedures and protocols at all times.
• Attend all required continuing training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Enforce property rules and regulations and escalate concerns to property management or law enforcement as necessary.
