About The Position

The Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger creates an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service and helps maintain a safe, clean environment that encourages customers to return. Responsibilities

Bag groceries at checkout, aiming for at least five items per bag while preventing damage and following best practices for reusable, plastic, and paper bags.
Assist customers by removing merchandise from the bottom of the bascart and offering to load bags into their vehicles.
Perform basic shelf conditioning and inform customers of grocery specials.
Return merchandise to store shelves and gather bascarts for return to designated areas.
Clean spills and collect trash inside the store and in the parking lot; clean areas inside and outside the store.
Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
Understand the store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, accidents, or other issues, and notify store management.
Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
Inspect equipment as part of preventive maintenance and notify the appropriate department or store manager of items needing repair.
Answer questions about products sold in the department and throughout the store, helping customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated.
Follow applicable local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment and manage conflict reasonably, cooperatively, and without confrontation.
Handle customer and business information honestly and with integrity; follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
Provide direct support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
