About The Position

The purpose of this classification is to supervise the day-to-day operations and staff of a court support unit. This role involves overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring efficient service delivery within a court support unit.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required, with vocational or technical training in office administration, human services, criminal justice, or a related field
• Five years of experience working in court programs and services, to include lead or supervisory experience
• May be required to possess and maintain affirmation as a sworn Deputy Clerk of the Court and Notary Public Certification
• According to area of assignment, may be required to possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff; participates in hiring and/or termination decisions/recommendations; compiles and reviews timesheets; processes employee concerns and problems and counsels or disciplines as appropriate; assists with or completes employee performance appraisals; directs work; acts as a liaison between employees and management; and trains staff in operations, policies, and procedures, or coordinates training opportunities for staff.
• Organizes, prioritizes, and assigns work; prioritizes and schedules work activities in order to meet objectives; ensures that subordinates have the proper resources needed to complete the assigned work; monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work; consults with assigned staff to assist with complex/problem situations and provide technical expertise; and provides progress and activity reports to management.
• Supervises the providing of and provides customer service to internal and external customers; answers telephone and greets walk in customers; provides information and assistance with filing of documents and court procedures; investigates and resolves problems related to court services; and directs customers to other departments or individuals as needed.
• Supervises departmental procurement and accounting activities; participates in the ordering and procurement of unit supplies; audits accounting processes; and reviews and approves accuracy of invoices and receipt of ordered supplies.
• Coordinates and supervises special court programs as required; and prepares reports and audits regarding court programs, activities, projects, and the future direction of certain court processes.
• Supervises and participates in records and reporting activities according to department/division functions; enters information into departmental database, such as legal information, charges and convictions; supervises, monitors, and prepares record retention schedules; coordinates the storage of court records; and approves the release of court related documents prepared by staff.
• May assist with the preparation and administration of assigned court division budget as required; and monitors expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budget.
