The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access. The Union Vicinage (Criminal Division) is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent decision making, flexibility, interpersonal, leadership and teamwork skills. This position requires strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders and internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and three years of professional experience, one year of which shall have included experience in case management; enforcement of court orders; and/or supervision, monitoring and intervention of offenders.
  • Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits.
  • An associate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • A master’s degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of general experience as indicated above
  • A law degree from an approved American Bar Association law school may be substituted for two years of general experience as indicated above.
  • Degrees conferred outside of the United States must be evaluated by a recognized evaluation service.
  • US citizenship is not required.
  • Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
  • Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting.
  • In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the "New Jersey First Act," all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises, monitors, coordinates and oversees a team of professional, paraprofessional, and support staff working within a case processing unit
  • Reviews and makes recommendations on all reports prepared by staff
  • Provides customer service
  • Tracks cases for case management purposes
  • Oversees special projects
  • Reports progress and resolution of problems in achieving goals and objectives to higher levels of management
  • Conducts formal work performance evaluations with team members and recommends and/or implements personnel actions
  • Leads a case management team
  • Develops and formulates procedures and/or practices to ensure efficient unit operations
  • Collaborates with assigned judges regarding the oversight and scheduling of matters both virtually and in-person
  • Performs related work as required
