Requirements

  • Wisconsin Resident
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalent
  • Three or more years of cash handling, fiscal and/or court experience.
  • Exchange of basic information with internal and/or external contacts.
  • Maintain sensitive or confidential information.
  • Explain and gather information, answer queries, or provide assistance to internal and/or external contacts.
  • Read, write and comprehend simple instructions, reports, short correspondence and memos.
  • Speak effectively before both internal and/or external groups.
  • Makes decisions of responsibility involving evaluation of information; decisions may require development or application of alternatives or precedents.
  • Execute decisions within limits of standard policy and procedures.
  • Interpret and adapt to established practices and procedures using independent judgment to meet situations to which applications are not clearly defined.
  • Knowledge of all related computer and software applications, such as word processing and Spreadsheets.
  • The ability to lift carry up to 10lbs and push/pull up to 25lb.

Responsibilities

  • Provide training for new cashier employees, schedules shift of cashier team, answers questions, reviews work and assists cashier team with unusual and/or complex issues.
  • Calculate and/or verify appropriate court fees and fines, receive cash and other negotiable instruments in payment of court fees, enter appropriate codes in electronic payment system, and prepare and issue receipts for those payments.
  • Open mail and examine fiscal documents submitted with payments, enter documents into electronic court record system. Review and process electronically filed cases; open new case files and designates court officials.
  • Answer telephone and in person inquiries pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 70.41. Resolve complex questions and issues within the unit.
  • Prepare bank deposits and balances daily receipts.
