Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Four (4) years of responsible administrative experience in a moderately complex office or business setting demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for this position.
  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to four (4) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
  • Experience providing direct administrative support to one or more persons.
  • Experience using a computer for data entry, scheduling, and managing and maintaining records; this experience should be within the past five years.
  • Experience maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines despite frequent interruptions or distracting surroundings.
  • Skill reviewing documents for accuracy, content, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Experience identifying, handling, and securing confidential information and materials.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a court or legal environment is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide moderate-to-complex administrative support for our court by processing circuit court cases, which includes reviewing, accepting, and rejecting filings.
  • Perform extensive data entry by entering new cases and pleadings into the court’s case management system.
  • Update case and party information as needed.
  • Scan documents, schedule hearings, track due dates, and disburse funds.
  • Provide customer service by responding to questions from the public, litigants, attorneys, court staff, judicial officers, and judicial partners about document entry, case processing, scheduling, the status of cases, and other related matters. The support you provide will be in person, over the phone, and in writing.
  • Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.
