Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least four (4) years of responsible administrative experience in a moderately complex office or business setting demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for this position OR Any combination of education and experience equivalent to four (4) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
  • Experience performing a variety of clerical or administrative support tasks with strict, and often competing, deadlines in a fast-paced business or professional setting.
  • Experience using a variety of software programs to access and input information and complete various tasks.
  • Experience responding professionally to customers or clients who are facing challenging life circumstances, stressful situations, or trauma.
  • Experience explaining processes, procedures, or policies.
  • Skill in writing and in reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

  • Bilingual skills (includes ASL) may be eligible for a 5% allowance if you can pass a skills test and are assigned to use those skills on the job.

Responsibilities

  • Enter new citations into the case management system.
  • Schedule traffic trials and landlord/tenant hearings.
  • Assess fines.
  • Extend hearing dates.
  • Process letters and cases.
  • Provide real-time data entry.
  • Answer questions about traffic procedures, outstanding fines, and hearing dates.
  • Provide directions to customers.
  • Provide court reporting and judicial assistance during traffic arraignments and trials, landlord/tenant trials, and small claims trials.
  • Record pleas and dispositions.
  • Ensure that the courtroom is clean at the end of the day.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies in a list of financial reports.
  • Provide backup for co-workers in the unit as needed, including processing landlord/tenant cases and providing backup coverage to the mediation coordinator.
  • Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.
