About The Position

The Multnomah County Circuit Court is hiring a High-Volume Case Processing Clerk (Court Operations Associate). In this role, you will work with a variety of case types, including landlord tenant, criminal, and small claims. You will accept and record documents filed with the court in each of these case types. This will include checking for accuracy and completeness; preparing, recording, processing motions, orders, and judgments for the court; as well as scheduling or organizing court appearances. These duties are performed daily within strict timelines. You will review complex case files for upcoming proceedings, prepare necessary forms, and perform data entry using the court’s electronic system. You will also coordinate with judges, litigants, and attorneys in using the court system and inform them of court procedures and policies. Lastly, you will be expected to answer telephone inquiries and correspondence related to court procedure and case status. Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs. We welcome all candidates who are inspired by our work and mission.

Requirements

  • At least three (3) or more years of responsible experience in a moderately complex office or business setting involving the processing of financial, administrative, or legal documents.
  • Possession of a high school diploma or GED, or equivalent life or work experience.
  • Proficient, regular, and recent use of computers and software programs to access and input information and to complete a variety of tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Respond tactfully and professionally to customers or clients who are facing challenging life circumstances or stressful situations.
  • Review documents for accuracy, content, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Meet deadlines despite frequent interruption.
