About The Position

Kingwood Pines Hospital is a 116 bed facility located in the beautiful residential Kingwood community. We are located about 30 miles northeast of the Houston Medical Center. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services. We serve children, adolescents, and adults for psychiatric and behavioral health. The hospital also has services in intensive outpatient and partial hospital program services.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Court Liaison/Patient Advocate will also serve as primary liaison for the District Attorney’s office and Probate Courts of Harris County for all patients for whom applications for court ordered mental health services are pending or in process.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Must have a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a health care environment; experience in a Psychiatric setting preferred.
• Successful completion of CPR and Handle With Care certification (May be obtained upon hire)

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate resolution of complaints, grievance, and/or requests by patients and visitors in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Identify systems related problems, via patient/visitor data and work collaboratively with staff to resolve.
• File applications for court ordered mental health services in a timely fashion.
• Maintain confidentiality of patients’ medical information.
