The Lane County Circuit Court in Eugene, Oregon, is hiring a Court Facilitator to join our team in the Family Court Assistance Office. In this role, you will help self-represented litigants navigate domestic relations case issues. You will provide an overview of court forms and processes to determine which forms are needed. You will meet with self-represented litigants in person and remotely to help them fill out their documents, make sure their paperwork is complete, and provide information about available resources and educational materials. You will also perform data entry, draft judgments and prepare them for a judge’s signature, and attend ex parte and status conferences to provide case information to judges and court staff. Customer service is a key part of this position. You will explain court procedures and local court rules that apply to a litigant’s situation for local and regional programs. You will schedule appointments for document review. You will respond to questions about family law cases. You will also sort and prepare self-help form packets. The support you provide will be in person, over the phone, through video-conference, and through email. You will spend occasional time attending meetings and training sessions. You will also help the Family Court Coordinator and management staff by suggesting improvements to program procedures. Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.
