About The Position

The Court Case Manager 2 will serve as the in-court clerk for minor offense and grand jury proceedings. This role involves preparing the courtroom for hearings, testing recording equipment, and reviewing case files for prior or pending actions. The position requires announcing the opening and closing of court proceedings, marking and maintaining exhibits and lists, recording court proceedings, and preparing accurate summaries. Jury clerk duties include preparing and distributing jury schedules, juror notices, routing requests for excusal and deferral to the judicial officer, and documenting juror attendance. Additional responsibilities include managing minor offense cases using CourtView/OnBase to open, calendar, and close cases, performing records research and requests, and handling daily mail at the post office. The role also encompasses vital statistics duties, assisting the public with marriage license applications, and preparing marriage licenses for signature. Furthermore, the position provides customer service at the front counter and over the phone, accepts incoming filings, and collects money for fines, fees, bail, etc., producing receipts.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND one year of advanced clerical work experience equivalent to a Court Case Manager 1 with the Alaska Court System or an equivalent position with another employer.
  • OR Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND completion of a two-year paralegal curriculum from an accredited institution.
  • OR A bachelor's degree from an accredited college.
  • Post-secondary transcripts, if using education to meet minimum qualifications.
  • A list of at least three (3) professional references, who have had supervisory authority over you along with their daytime contact phone numbers and email addresses.
  • Copies of your most recent (2) performance evaluations, if available.
  • Certification that you have a legal right to accept employment in the United States.
  • If using work experience not already documented in your application, provide the employer’s name, your job title, dates of employment and whether full or part-time.
  • Copies of transcripts are required to verify educational credentials used to meet or support the minimum qualifications for the position and are required with each application.
