About The Position

OnRamps prepares students and teachers for success in the classroom and beyond. We build partnerships across K12 and higher education to raise the bar on dynamic experiences that advance student success while lowering barriers to access and opportunity. OnRamps Course Support employees support course management in the OnRamps Chemistry course(s). They provide sustained contributions to ongoing initiatives, as well as just-in-time assistance with seasonal, unexpected, and urgent projects.

Requirements

  • Current undergraduate student at The University of Texas at Austin majoring in Chemistry or related discipline.
  • Intermediate computer skills: MS Word, including its Equation Editor, Excel (creating and using templates), PowerPoint (and the Google Application equivalents).
  • Experience with Canvas LMS.
  • Experience with graphic design and/or data analytics and management.
  • Punctual, reliable, responsible, self-motivated.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in and knowledge of local, state, and national dual-enrollment and college-readiness initiatives.
  • Expert computer skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint (and the Google Application equivalents).
  • Experience with web development and/or coding such as: HTML5, R Studio and/or Python.
  • Experience with Smartsheet.
  • Recommendation from more than one professional or academic reference.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and distribution of modules, activities, and other course resources for OnRamps Chemistry Instructors and students in the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) under the direction of course staff.
  • Participation in course prototyping, user testing, and continuous improvement of course-related materials.
  • In collaboration with OnRamps course staff, OnRamps Course Support employees engage in continuous improvement of processes and systems toward achievement of program objectives.
  • Non-instructional, clerical work, such as record-keeping in OnRamps courses or sections, and other functions directly related to Chemistry courses.
