About The Position

OnRamps prepares students and teachers for success in the classroom and beyond by building partnerships across K12 and higher education. The Geoscience Course Grader supports the OnRamps Geoscience Earth, Wind, and Fire course (GEO 302E). This role involves close collaboration with the Geoscience Course Manager and the Geoscience grader mentor to ensure timely and accurate grading of student assessments, providing feedback within Canvas, and participating in calibrations and training to align with course requirements. The Course Support employee also assists with urgent projects aligned with the OnRamps mission.

Requirements

Current undergraduate or graduate student at The University of Texas at Austin majoring in Geoscience or closely related major with at least 2 semesters of Geoscience courses.
Intermediate computer skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Experience with Canvas LMS.
Recommendation from at least one professional or academic reference
Punctual, reliable, responsible, Self-motivated
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Nice To Haves

Interest in and knowledge of local, state, and national dual-enrollment and college-readiness initiatives
Expert computer skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Experience with Learning Catalytics, MS Outlook, and/or Smartsheet

Responsibilities

Maintains accuracy and consistency while grading course assignments and assessments in Canvas Learning Management System.
Provides feedback on course assignments and assessments in Canvas Learning Management System.
Attends calibration meetings and participate in training to align feedback and deepen transferrable skills.
Assists with seasonal and urgent projects that align to the OnRamps mission.
